Hello Students and Guardians!

This fall sure has been a busy one. We have LOVED getting to hang out with you all and we look forward to those times each week! For us, we already feel like a family - we hope you feel it too! Check out the rest of our FirstCovGR Student News to hear about some important upcoming events.

BLAZE (MIDDLE SCHOOL)

What is BLAZE? BLAZE is a community of 6th-8th graders that meet every Wednesday evening at FirstCov. We gather to seek God and to be changed by him. We will focus on the word of God through the reading and teaching of scripture, prayer, worship, service, life groups, and some super fun games!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the junior high retreat this past weekend. We had a BLAST and will still be catching up on sleep for the next couple of days! We hope and pray that you all find some time this week to reflect on the ways that God was moving. May you continue to seek Him and go all in!!

Wednesday, November 15: BLAZE SERVE. Take a look at the details:

  • WHO? Middle Schoolers (6th-8th graders) and their friends!
  • WHAT? We have a BLAZE SERVE night this week. We are going to become "blanketeers" for the night by working with Project Linus! Project Linus aims to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are sick and in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets. Each life group will work together to create a fleece tie blanket to donate. Serving out of our own youth room shows that our students can create change in the world around them from where they are at. After all, small things that are shared with great love lead to a kingdom difference!
  • WHERE? In the youth room at FirstCovGR
  • WHEN? THIS WEDNESDAY, November 15 from 6:30-8p.

We have some learning opportunities for our middle school students on Sunday mornings! Check them out:

  • ABIDE 67: 6th and 7th graders are invited to build community, practice spiritual devotion, and learn what it means to abide in the presence of God. This week, Lauren will be teaching Unanswered Prayers. Is there such a thing? Com find out on Sunday! Meet in room 112.
  • CONFIRMATION: 8th graders are invited to join our confirmation and discipleship class. Join Jodye Dennis as she leads us in a conversation about God's covenant! Meet in room 109.

THIS SUNDAY - November 19: Cliffhanger Info Meeting!

  • Students and guardians are invited to join us for an informational meeting regarding our summer adventure and worship experience to Colorado! This trip is for incoming 8th and 9th graders (for the 2024-25 school year) - this would be our current 7th and 8th graders. Join us from June 15-22 for a week of going outside your comfort zone, fellowship, and discipleship! We will meet in the youth room (222) after the 10:30a service. See you all there!

RADIATE (HIGH SCHOOL)

What is RADIATE? RADIATE is a community of 9th-12th graders who gather to seek God and to be changed by him. We will focus on the word of God through the reading and teaching of scripture, prayer, worship, life groups, and some super fun games! We meet every Sunday evening at FirstCovGR.
